Our office is involved in a number of special programs. Infantsee- is an American Optometric Association program to provide free eye exams for infants ages 6-12 months. The purpose is to detect eye health and vision problems at an early age before they lead to permanent vision loss. www.infantsee.org Vision USA- is an American Optometric Association program to provide free eye exams for people who do not have insurance and can not afford eyecare. www.aoa.org Vision Day- is a Rapid City Optometric Society program held each July to provide free vision screenings for students going into 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades in the Rapid City area. The screenings can detect any vision problems which may cause problems with learning and school. Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanity (VOSH)-The primary mission of VOSH / International is to facilitate the provision of vision care worldwide to people who can neither afford nor obtain such care. Dr. Moriarty recently spent a week providing free eyecare in Gomez Palacio, Mexico. www.vosh.org |
